In a century-old home on the hill overlooking the Malecón in the heart of Puerto Vallarta you'll find Cafe des Artistes, which, over the past 16 years, has earned a distinguished reputation as one of the best restaurants in the world.

Since 1990, Cafe des Artistes has grown, developed and evolved into a trilogy of extraordinary culinary concepts, showcasing not only the culinary artistry of Maitre Cuisinier de France Chef Thierry Blouet, but also a fantasy-like setting.

And like the best wine, Café des Artistes only gets better with age. This month, Thierry is celebrating the 16th anniversary of the opening of his landmark Puerto Vallarta restaurant by offering a wide selection of culinary events for your enjoyment from December 1st-16th.

During the entire 15 day celebration, Café des Artistes will be offering their three-course Bistro menu for only $249 pesos per person and Costantini Wine Bar will be offering 2 x 1 national cocktails (not including premium brands.)

From December 8th-15th, Café des Artistes and Costantini Wine Bar invite you to take pleasure in the delirious chocolate creations of Chef Eric Fernández, one of the chief instructors at the Escuela Culinaria Internacional in Guadalajara, as he presents a special dessert menu created especially for chocoholics.

In keeping with the spirit of the celebration, Thierry Blouet Cocina de Autor is offering a great promotion that you just can't afford to miss. From December 1st-14th you can pay for one less course than you enjoy. For example, dine on four courses, pay for three, or dine on five and pay for four.

On the 15th, Thierry will be hosting a limited seating Chef's Table at his signature restaurant, Cocina de Autor, featuring a special menu created by Chef Bruno Oteiza of the Tezka Restaurant in Mexico City's Hotel Royal Zona Rosa.

The Cigar and Cognac Salon is the place to be on December 13th at 7:30 pm for an unique wine tasting of Robert Mondavi Cabernet Reserva from the harvests of 1997 to 2002, followed by a four-course dinner.

Price per person $2500 pesos, and includes a vertical wine tasting, a four-course dinner paired with wine and gratuities. To make this event extra special, seating is limited to 12 people. For reservations, call Lidia Huerta or Polo Tovar at 222-3228.

The variety and depth of the restaurant's 16th Anniversary Celebration reflect Chef Thierry Blouet's passion, creativity, imagination and his immense energy and enthusiasm for excellence.

"There has been such an enthusiastic response to Cafe des Artistes over the years and this is my way of recognizing the Puerto Vallarta community, our guests, and our staff," explained Chef Blouet.
