The big "buzz" around town is concerning the new restaurant, The Beach House, directly south of the landmark El Dorado on the beach. It seems everyone is exclaiming positively about the food.

The charming owner is Marco Quinones, formerly associated with The Four Season restaurants worldwide for seven years. Marco brings two chefs with him from the Punta de Mita Four Seasons - Paulina and Rosa - ensuring immediate quality.

The menu includes snacks and appetizers, salads, wraps and sandwiches. These aren΄t any usual menu items in quality and presentation! Popular will be the secluded palapa bar in the patio area. It is a refuge from the beach scene and the heat of the beach.

The Beach House is open daily from 10 am - 7 pm with food served from 11 am - 5 pm. Most items of large portions are $100 pesos ($10 USD) and up. A number of private functions already are booked.

A website is under construction. For further information, you can send an email to marco(at)thebeachhousepv.com.

You'll also want to check out the new Artisan Bakery, "where bread is an art," located at Morelos 875, tel: 044-322-150-6547, or visit their Website at ArtisanBakeryIntl.com. According to owner Jaime Martinez-Carapia, who is assisted by his spouse, Lorene Rivera, it already is attracting customers. Jaime is an executive baker from California who has won awards for his breads. A wood-burning masonry oven produces fine texture and crust. Do you have a special bread in mind? Let them know.

Musicians Steve and Lisa York are back in town, playing at Cuates y Cuetes on the beach on Sunday at 7:30 pm. Their new CD, The Celebrators, is available at TheCelebrators.com.

Vertice Contemporary Art Gallery, Ignacio L. Vallarta 179, will be presenting a workshop of Mexican Art Appreciation January 21-25 from 10 am - 12:30 pm. Fee is $300 USD. It is conducted by Laura Ortiz, who has a masters in art education. For more information, telephone (322) 222-9415 or email: info(at)galeriaverticepv.com.

Playwright Tench Friedenberg won grand prize for a New York competition for her play, Kiss Bessemer Goodbye. Congratulations!

Have you seen those cute little cars of Candy Pasteleria? Colorful deliveries of cakes, cookies and fancy desserts. For information, call (322) 222-7444/45.

The stomach flu hit with a vengeance. Hope you are doing well. To be "normal" again will be wonderful.
