Puerto Vallarta - Next theater season at Santa Barbara is going to be action-packed with new shows, under new owner Ann Marie Danimus, a performer and actress herself. She told us about some of her plans at the recent fund raiser for children's theater camp.

Two shows per night will provide plenty of variety. Ann Marie says 14 shows are scheduled at this time. Look for Cats, Grease, Fever, a Liza Man-nelli show with Paul Guerrero, and Kathy Overly also will be involved in productions.

Frederico Fonseca and Paul Guerrero will be keys to a number of productions. Other shows are being lined up. Second shows per night will include Karaoke, Tango, ballroom dancing, the list goes on and on...

Kathy Overly, also a well-known caterer, is planning menus for The Broadway Cafe upstairs, featuring home-style dining. Yes, macaroni and cheese is included!

Delightful Ann Marie says, "I am open to the community. I can be called at any time."

A new in-house Becas program is providing some scholarship funds for children to participate in a summer theater camp or dance classes. Camp will start July 7th and run through August 8th. A recital will feature shortened versions of Annie, Oliver and The Sound of Music.

Teachers will be Kathy Overly, Paul Guerrero, Frederico Fonseca and Ann Marie Danimus.

A recent fund raiser was called "Raise the Roof." Looks like that indeed IS happening at Santa Barbara Theater, 351 Olas Altas, Tel: 223-2048.
