It's hot and humid here in Puerto Vallarta. Even though even though there are less people here in the Banderas Bay area, there are still lots of fun things to do - from health clinics to the Summer Food Drive and BINGO for Beans and Babies. I hope wherever you are, you are cool, happy and healthy!

Mammogram Clinic
July 22, 2009
$800 pesos
Includes mammogram & manual exam.
By appointment only!

Colonoscopy
On-going
$3800 pesos (does not include any biopsies taken)
By appointment only!

Please remember the following if you are living here full or part-time:

• Register with your consulate
• Have a personal physician
• Keep your own medical record
• Make sure your insurance covers you here

For any questions on the above list - let me know!

The Jungle Drums seem to beat non-stop around here, regardless of the season. Via these drums, I have heard on more than one occasion that HealthCare Resources receives a "commission" each time I make an appointment for someone with a physician. I'd really like to put a stop to this rumor. We do not! Our contracts are with the best physicians in the area and includes a whole lot more services to these physicians than only referrals. If we make your appointment for you:

1. You know you are confirmed (and perhaps the receptionist does not speak English)

2. Oftentimes the physician will give a discount (but not always)

3. A follow-up is done with both the patient and the physician in most cases.

Should you have any questions-comments regarding this service, please do not hesitate contacting me.

As we prepare for the upcoming high season, HealthCare Resources will be making some changes (all good I hope!) Look for our new "Membership Program" with details to be announced soon. Our Speakers Program will increase in topics, including some series/seminars that are going to be different - and exciting! As well, our special clinics will expand to include orthopedics, neurology and cardiac. If you have any suggestions, I am more than open to hearing them. Send them on!

There are still lots of fun things to do in the area, even though there are less people here (we miss you!) I will be having a lunch in August, mainly for newcomers (old-timers welcome though!) so if you are interested, please let me know.

There is a new group formed for expats - details at: ExpatsInVallarta.com

Our Summer Food Drive is in full swing and turning out to be very successful! For more information and updates, visit pvrpvblog.blogspot.com.

Join us every Thursday evening through the end of September for BINGO for Beans and Babies. Lots of fun and 100% of the monies raised going to Pasitos de Luz. More details can be found at: pvrpvblog.blogspot.com.

Are you ready to head out of the sultry heat of Vallarta for a bit? We are offering a special price at the Hacienda Jalisco for the summer of only $670 pesos per person, per night. This includes dinner and breakfast! As well, if you are interested in just going for the day and enjoying a yummy lunch with some other folks seeking some coolness, let me know. During the month of August, we will be offering a day trip to include lunch and transportation - no need to drive!

Wherever you are, whatever you are doing, I hope it's all good

Thank you for your continued support!
