From August 29 through September 7, 2009, Puerto Vallarta Mexico will once again play host to more than 100 models and photographers competing for more than $200,000 in cash, prizes and scholarships in the world’s largest live swimwear model and photographer search - the 25th Annual Ujena Jam.

Ujena Jam week has become a late summer tradition in Puerto Vallarta, attracting hundreds of local visitors, media and industry executives. "It is Ujena's favorite time of year because we will again be returning to the fine hospitality of Puerto Vallarta," says Bob Anderson, Ujena Founder/C.E.O. and Chief Photographer. "We love the city's colonial style character for the backdrop for our catalog shots."

Appropriately dubbed the "Olympics" of swimwear competitions, the Ujena Jam’s emphasis on fitness contests puts it in a class of its own. In addition to competing for magazine covers and lucrative modeling contracts, the models and photographers will also participate in "Ujena Lifestyle Events" ranging from the annual 5k run, bikini acrobatics and swimming competitions, to golf and deep-sea fishing tournaments.

While most events and competitions are provided for fun and entertainment, all competing models and photographers must participate in the 5k run, even if they walk. The run, like many of the Ujena Jam events, is open to the public, as are many of the week's theme-related parties, which have been dubbed by The Metro Newspaper as "The best parties in Mexico."

Most all events welcome spectators. Many of the fitness and sporting events are open to local and non-model participants. A full schedule of events and times can be viewed at UjenaJam.com.
