Flu and H1N1 Vaccines in Puerto Vallarta

Please do not hesitate to contact Pamela with questions via email pamela(at)healthcareresourcespv.com.
Over the past few weeks, I have received numerous requests for information on the availability of H1N1 vaccines in the Banderas Bay area. Here is what I've learned.

The "regular" flu vaccines are now available in the Puerto Vallarta area. Most private physicians (GP's and Internists) have them available and costs vary from $400 to $600 pesos.

If you have an INSEN card you can most likely go to the Health Department downtown and receive a regular flu vaccine at no charge. It has been this way in past years, but I have no confirmation that it will be the same this year. For more information on an INSEN card, click HERE. As well, it is unconfirmed as to when the flu vaccines will be ready to distribute via the Health Department.

Health Care Resources will have several flu vaccine clinics. The first one will be Tuesday, October 13, 2009. Cost for the regular flu vaccine is $450 pesos each. If you would like to receive one, please email me at pamela(at)healthcareresourcespv.com to reserve a space and vaccine. All details will be given upon your reservation.

The request for H1N1 vaccines in the Banderas Bay area has been overwhelming. As per several authorities, H1N1 vaccines will not be available through private physicians but will only be available through the local Health Department.

When this will happen, no one knows exactly at this point but they are not available at this time. Regulations as to who will receive them are not available at this time either. It is recommended that if you want an H1N1 vaccine and you are in the US/Canada at this time, it's best to receive it there.

As per several physicians, the information above is a good and accurate chart to go by. I unfortunately do not know where it came from, or who wrote it, but I have received it from numerous people and followed up with 8 physicians to see what they thought. They all said it contained "good information."

Please do not hesitate to contact me with questions, preferably via email but if not, you can call my cell phone at 044-322-107-7007.
