Glamour on the Red Carpet at Restaurant Japanice that was to be held on January 30, 2010 to raise funds for RISE, Becas Vallarta and Nuestro Huerta, has been cancelled due to circumstances beyond our control. We hope that sometime in the future we will be able to hold this exciting event.
Puerto Vallarta - Save the date of January 30th for an extraordinary evening at the stunning restaurant, Japanice. "Glamour on the Red Carpet ... for the Children" will be a casino night and will feature the food from Japanice thanks to the generosity of restaurant owner Miguel Padilla and Food by Seth. All proceeds will benefit Becas Vallarta, Nuestra Huerta and R.I.S.E.
Becas Vallarta is a non-profit, tax-deductible Mexican foundation that provides scholarships to Puerto Vallarta students who have limited resources and high scholastic achievement. Over the years, they have sponsored thousands of young Vallartenses through junior high, high school, university and even medical school through donations and fund raisers such as this.  Nuestra Huerta is a program for the students at Benito Juarez Primary School in El Remance, a rustic, poverty-challenged corner of Puerto Vallarta. Nuestra Huerta is an edible garden at the school to help teach the students there how to grow healthy foods, environmentalism, soil development, water conservation and sustainable agriculture, and at the same time teaching them science and math. And finally we have R.I.S.E. (Refugio Infantil Santa Esperanza, A.C.) This Program is a orphanage that has been in Puerto Vallarta since 2001. They have helped over 350 children who are either orphaned or come from unbearable situations having been abused, neglected, or simply abandoned. All of these organizations are dedicated to the future and well being of these children and are very strong willed when it comes to helping them out. So make plans now to attend the January 30th event at Japanice, where you will have a great time - for three worthy causes.
Tickets for "Glamour on the Red Carpet ... for the Children" are being pre-sold for $350 pesos general admission and $750 pesos for a private casino in the Sky Bar, where you can enjoy the evening overlooking the ocean and cathedral in the High Roller Lounge with a private wait staff and live entertainment.
