March 16, 2010

The Travel Warning that the US Department of State issued on March 15, 2010 to inform U.S. citizens traveling to and living in Mexico of concerns about the security situation in Mexico, does not include specific travel warnings that relate to the Banderas Bay area.

On March 16, 2010, Puerto Vallarta U.S. Consular Agent Kelly Trainor made the following statement:

At this time there are no specific travel warnings for American Citizens that relate to Puerto Vallarta, Jalisco or the Riviera Nayarit in this consular district of Mexico.

It is recommended that all travelers examine the U.S. State Department website with latest update on the travel warnings at travel.state.gov.

In addition to updated travel warnings/alerts, at this website you can consult the section for International Travel for U.S. Citizens, where you will find very helpful information including country specific information and helpful tips for traveling abroad.

It is also recommended that American Citizen travelers register with their U.S. Embassy at the following website: travelregistration.state.gov.
