Isn't the Internet wonderful? Instant connection! Instant information! Instant answers! Things are done in a split second and we expect to be acknowledged in that amount of time as well. That is all well and good, in most cases.

These past few weeks, I have received numerous emails (instantly!) from folks who are complaining of not receiving an email answer "quickly" from their physicians. "But Pam, I emailed him-her two days ago and I still have not heard back! Why don't they answer me?" Another: "I have texted him-her, I have left messages on his-her cell phone, but I have not heard back! I don't like this doctor anymore!"

There are numerous reasons a physician will not return an email, a text message or a phone call in what we might think is a timely manner. Maybe they are in surgery, maybe they are with another patient (most likely many patients), maybe they are in an emergency, maybe they are with their family or, maybe they are in the bathroom!

Most physicians in the area are known for not returning emails super-fast. That is just the way it is. Accept it. Let's look for a different solution. Send the email to me. I can always track them down. Better yet, make an appointment for a consult to go over whatever questions you might have. There are no such things as "on-line consults." In most cases, the physician needs to have your face in front of him-her to remember exactly who you are.

We are so very, very lucky to have such wonderful and personable physicians in the area. As we move forward even further in to the "Internet age" let's give them a break, meet with them face to face and not expect rapid-fire responses.

At HealthCare Resources Puerto Vallarta we are here to assist you in any way that we can. Just send US an email at info(at)healthcareresourcespv.com and we'll "hook you up!"
