Many of you who are reading this have headed to points beyond Puerto Vallarta for the summer months. We look forward to seeing you next fall! Those of us that live here year-round are doing our "Preparing for Summer" jobs, which include sealing up in airtight bags leather goods, blankets, winter clothes.

It also means purchasing new washcloths (sweat rags), extra deodorant, talcum powder and always making sure the water jug is full! There are many new folks to the area, who are facing their first summer here. If you could send me your summer tip for the area, I will compile those and get them out for all to see and share!

The past few months have brought a huge interest in the "social media" and that includes bringing it to HealthCare Resources. You can now follow articles, health tips and other information at the following locations:

HealthCare Resources Blog: Just click on the link and you'll be taken to some recent articles on various topics. While at the site, add your email address for all future updates!

Facebook: If you are on Facebook, do a search for HealthCare Resources and we will pop right up! Click "like" or "add as a friend" and you can follow little blurbs on health related items.

BanderasNews.com: This site continues to be the very best for knowing anything and everything about what is going on in Puerto Vallarta and the Banderas Bay area, including a HealthCare Resources section, which features many of my articles. Click HERE to check it out!

Watch for a big sprucing up of the HealthCareResourcesPV.com website and our new big one on Medical Tourism in Puerto Vallarta. (Yes folks - it is coming our way and big time!)

There are a number of wonderful, talented and professional people in the area who are in the business of assisting you with your social media/business. Please contact me for a list of referrals.

Charity in Vallarta

The summer months here are extremely difficult for many charities. If you are here, I urge you to find the one of your choice and participate! HealthCare Resources focus this summer will be with Regional Hospital. Watch for upcoming announcements of what is needed, what you can do and how you can participate. As well, a special announcement is in the works for Pasitos de Luz (and it involves SHOPPING! Woo-Hoo!)

Returning to Vallarta?

For those of you planning on returning to Puerto Vallarta in the fall, the time is NOW to book your accommodations! By far and without a doubt, PVRPV (Puerto Vallarta Rentals Premier Vacations) has the largest selection of rental properties, all ranges to choose from. And the staff at PVRPV must be one of the most helpful group of employees in the area.

As well, now is the time to prepare for your time in Vallarta, whether it be short- or long-term. That means making sure you have the proper insurance coverage, that the medications that you take are available here, that you have all emergency numbers and that you are established with a physician if you are here long term. HealthCare Resources is happy to assist you with these items. Remember! There IS no such thing as free medical care here!

Some Fun Stuff

As the weather heats up, Thursday afternoon-at-the-movies is becoming more popular each week. If you would like to be on our weekly email list announcing the Movie of the Week, please let me know! It's fun going with a group of friends!

Saturday, June 19, 2010 - Prime Rib Extravaganza at Sazon Liana. $350 pesos includes THE WORKS! We have a great little group signed up so far - please join us! Email me for details.

Cool off at the Hacienda Jalisco! Summer rates are in place now ($770 pesos pp per night includes dinner and breakfast.) Or, join in on a day trip that includes transportation and lunch. Please email me if you are interested in participating. It is most definitely a wonderful and refreshing place to go to during these hot summer months!

On the last Saturday of each month, Miralo will be offering a really great mosaic demonstration. If you have never been to Miralo, you are really missing out on some gorgeous items. Rodolfo has put together an inspiring demo of his work. A fun summer project! For more information and a map to the shop, please visit miralo.biz. And watch for some upcoming workshops!

Staying Healthy in the Summer

The most important thing to remember is hydrate, hydrate, hydrate and then hydrate some more! Dehydration can bring on symptoms including nausea to seizures, depending on the severity. Drink those fluids! Drink those liquados! Try and do any strenuous work in the early morning hours. Don't bake yourself on the beach!

Have a wonderful, fun and very safe summer! We are here to assist you in ALL of your health care needs! For further information on any of the above items, please send an email to pamela(at)healthcareresourcespv.com, call 044-322-107-7007 or visit HealthCareResourcesPV.com.
