PV Firefighter and Lifeguard Appreciation Spaghetti Luncheon
email this pageprint this pageemail usPamela Thompson - PVNN
September 04, 2010

Update: Now more than ever these folks deserve our support, appreciation and respect after the past few weeks of torrential rains, bridge wash-outs and everything else that has come along with the heavy rains we have experienced. Remember that ticket sales are pre-event only. Please contact me at 044-322-107-7007 to get yours TODAY!

Firefighters and Lifeguards here in Puerto Vallarta seemingly do miracles with nothing. The dedication of these first-responders to emergency services is unmatched. Although they don't seek recognition for their thoughtful and caring ways, it is our time to reciprocate and say thank you.

These guys and gals work diligently with very few materials and supplies handling every type of emergency, from gas leaks to drownings, from fallen trees to fires. They are an extremely dedicated and cohesive group.

We invite you to participate in a spaghetti luncheon to honor them for their devotion to the Puerto Vallarta community. The event will take place at the local fire station on Sunday, on October 10th from 2-6 pm.

As well, we ask that you "Bring a Thing" to help stock their supplies. Items needed include:

• Ace wraps
• Antibiotic ointment
• Band-Aids
• Bed sheets
• Blender
• Cleaning supplies
• Cookware
• Crutches
• Deodorants
• Diapers (pediatric and adult)
• DVD player and DVD’s
• Eating utensils
• Gauze sterile dressings
• Gloves (sterile and non-sterile)
• Over-the-counter medicines for pain relief, cold & flu
• Non-perishable foods
• Personal hygiene supplies
• Powdered infant formula (non-expired)
• Socks
• Thermometers
• Toaster
• Toilet paper
• Tongue depressors
• Toothbrushes and toothpaste
• Towels (all sizes)

If you are interested in helping throughout the year with similar projects planned to assist the Cuerpo de Bomberos, please contact us. Even if it is just to take some cookies or food items on a monthly basis. Or, on a larger scale, if you have ties with any fire departments in the United States and Canada, we can work together to bring down any used equipment.

The Puerto Vallarta fire station is located just 7 blocks east of the Hotel Sheraton at Av. De Las Americas #565. We look forward to seeing you at the luncheon on Sunday, October 10, 2010. Tickets are available for $150 pesos and must be purchased in advance by calling:
