Vallarta Tourism Board and Hotels Exhibit at AIBTM

June 16, 2014

As part of its pro active campaign to attract more business travelers to 'Mexico's Most Mexican Destination,' the Puerto Vallarta exhibited in the Mexico Tourism Board's stand at this year's AIBTM Expo.

Puerto Vallarta, Mexico - After signing on to become a 'Preferred Partner' of Meeting Professionals International last month, the Puerto Vallarta Tourism Board exhibited in the Mexico Tourism Board's stand at this year's AIBTM Expo at the Orange County Convention Center in Orlando from June 10-12, 2014, as part of its pro active campaign to attract more business travelers to Mexico's most Mexican destination.

The Americas Incentive, Business Travel & Meetings Exhibition (AIBTM) is an exclusive and private event where 250 exhibitors and 250 premier meeting planners are carefully selected based on their industry relevance, expertise and business they have to place resulting in an all-important 1 to 1 ratio. Tailored to the U.S. market, IBTM America serves and guarantees the attendance of top-level decision makers from across the US and overseas.

A delegation of Puerto Vallarta hoteliers, including representatives of the Hilton Resort, Fiesta Americana Puerto Vallarta Hotel, Sheraton Buganvilias Resort & Convention Center, AM Resorts, and the Garza Blanca Preserve Resort & Spa, were among the city's ambassadors exhibiting in the Mexico Tourism Board's booth.

Puerto Vallarta is one of Mexico's leading meetings destinations because of its superior professional services along with its proximity to key markets in the US. Enriched by Mexican heritage, this charming seaport has the infrastructure and amenities to provide some of the most unique settings for corporate events. As a result, meetings held in Puerto Vallarta have consistently brought 20% more attendees than their previous meeting location.

Rolando Miravete, Executive Director of the Puerto Vallarta Tourism Board, maintained an active agenda meeting with planners seeking a new Mexican destination to work with, in addition to many who were looking to start working in Mexico and saw Puerto Vallarta as an ideal initial destination for Meetings and Incentives Travel. Miravete spoke to them about Puerto Vallarta's diverse tourism and business travel offerings and invited many to participate in this year's Vallarta Meetings, the destination's educational trip for the meetings industry.

During the two-day expo, Miravete also met with the owners and directors of EVENTagis; Synergy Meeting Solutions; HelmsBriscoe; Pacific Coast Oto Ohthamological Society; American Society for Photogrammetry and Remote Sensing; Envizion Marketing; Innovaix; Event Planing by Tiara LLC; Imagine Xhibits; Newton-Thoth, Inc; Bookmymeetings.com; Nerium, HPN; and the Puerto Vallarta Tourism Board's new partner, Meeting Professionals International. He also met with the editors of Meetings Focus, Meetings & Conventions, Prevue Magazine, and Facilities Media Group's Golf Resorts & Meeting Destinations.

Latitude, the tourism board's PR agency in the US and Canada, assisted with a media agenda aimed at introducing Miravete and his new position as Tourism Board Director, as well as the changes in hotel infrastructure taking place in Puerto Vallarta this year. The list of improvements included the opening of the Holiday Inn Express, the One Hotel, Almar Resort Luxury All Suites & SPA, and the Hotel Mousai, as well as the Fiesta Americana Hotel transforming into an all-inclusive property, and the Hyatt Zilara opening in the old Dreams Resort location.
