Puerto Vallarta, Mexico - The 24th Festival Gourmet International, which began on November 23 and runs through December 2, 2018, celebrates culinary excellence, with chefs from all over the world sharing their expertise with the talented chefs at some of the finest restaurants in Puerto Vallarta and around Banderas Bay.

Kaiser Maximilian has been participating in the Gourmet Festival every year and, in this 24th edition, they are hosting two guest chefs from Octon, France, who are making "The French Connection," with the restaurant's talented team of chefs during the event.

Come enjoy special menu items created by Guest Chef Mathieu Ravinel from La Palombe Restaurant in Octon, France, and his Sous Chef, Jean Adrien Buniazet, together with Kaiser Maximilian's Executive Chef, Juan Carlos Palomera, and Pastry Chef Claudio Hernández.

Guest Chef Mathieu Ravinel trained at the hotel school in Thonon les Bain (near Geneva) and the Ferrandi culinary school in Paris. After working at Ze Kitchen Galery in Paris for 4 years, he moved on to work with the famous Chef Michel Kayser of the 2 Michelin star restaurant Alexandre, near Nimes, France. Mathieu's assistant, Jean-Adren Buniazet, who worked with the well-known Chef Hélčne Darroze, joins him at Kaiser Maximilian.

Part of the success formula at Kaiser Maximilian is that since the restaurant opened, Chef Juan Carlos Palomera has been part of all the Festival Gourmet events, working shoulder to shoulder with acclaimed U.S. and European chefs. Sharing Maximilian's kitchen is pastry Chef Claudio Hernández.

On this occasion, and because of the history of Emperor Maximilian with France, this year's culinary theme is "The French Connection," and the innovative menu created by these exceptional chefs features the exceptional flavors of France.

If you miss the 24th Festival Gourmet International, never fear! Kaiser Maximilian will be serving up the guest chef's special French Connection menu, along with the restaurant's Austrian fare, from noon to 11 pm at Espresso Bar and from 6 to 11 pm in The Main Dining Room through December 15th.
