Puerto Vallarta, Jalisco, Mexico - On Thursday, January 10th, the Vallarta Botanical Garden and its collaborators with Panthera México were honored by an official public inauguration of the second installation of its JAGUARS - From Ancestral Myth to Current Conservation Imperative exhibition.

Earlier that morning, Garden staff, Municipal staff, and several incredibly dedicated volunteers worked together to install the exhibit in the heart of the Malecón, between the iconic Caballito del Mar (Boy on the Seahorse sculpture) and the El Faro del Malecón (Boardwalk Lighthouse).

The 'JAGUARS - From Ancestral Myth to Current Conservation Imperative' exhibition was first installed at the Vallarta Botanical Garden in November 2018, as part of Mexico's first-ever El Mes del Jaguar, a month-long, countrywide celebration of the Jaguar.

The 16 pieces in this exhibit provide stunning images of Jaguars - the largest cat in the Americas - and a storyline, starting with their significance in Mexican culture, and continuing through to the current critical need to conserve wild lands to sustain their survival into the future.

The January 10th inaugural event was well attended with participants including local and state level government representatives and international tourism & wildlife executives.

The exhibition is scheduled to remain on display through Sunday, February 10th, so please make some time to takew a walk along the Malecón and see it for yourself in person!
