ANNUAL AUCTION AND SALE OF ART 18:00 HRS In its 19th edition, the Annual Auction and Art Sale of the Los Mangos Library joins FESTIVAL VALLARTE to provide experience and project its cultural offer and its social value with much greater scope. The Annual Auction brings together in one night and under one roof painters, sculptors, designers, craftsmen ... all with the generous disposition to contribute from their specialty, resources that guarantee the continuity of the free librarian services offered by Los Mangos Library. All artists are invited to participate through an open call. The organizing committee is responsible for the selection and curatorship so that the donated work participates either in a live auction with direct bid or in a room where the work has a fixed price, agreed with the artist. The night starts at 6:00 pm, when the doors are opened and live music, food and drinks welcome attendees - thanks to the generosity of the local sponsors. It also marks the start of the sale of art and the ever-popular gift certificates generously donated by restaurants, hotels, boutiques, tour operators, salons, gyms, etc., as people continue to arrive. At 7:30 pm, the President of the Library's Board of Directors welcomes attendees before handing the microphone over to the professional auctioneers who lead the rest of the program. The Los Mangos Library Annual Auction is a cultural, social and altruistic event whose result is that all artists, sponsors, donors, volunteers, staff and the public that attends are responsible. Since its inauguration 22 years ago, Los Mangos Library has been a valuable resource for complementing the academic training of students in the region ----- One of the purest expressions of what organized civil society is able to achieve when working together and committed to the same purpose, Los Mangos is not "just a library," but a true cultural and community center that also serves as a venue for entertaining and educational workshops, art exhibits, concerts, and cultural events. ------- In more than two decades of diverse services related to access of information, extracurricular education, artistic initiation & creation, dialogue and the strengthening of countless community and civic initiatives, the Library has shown its inspiring and formative nature. The powerful heart that pumps life into the library, whose services have been and will always be free, is a solid cultural center that serves families in different areas of the city. The public cultural activities of fundraising also contribute in a very important way to the continuity and gratuity of the library services. The Annual Auction and sale of Art, is for 18 years, the most outstanding event in this matter. The generosity of artists, collectors, volunteers and the general public is admirable. Born with the intention of gathering expressions and artistic projects under one name to enhance its visibility, redirect the eyes of those who reside in the city and position Puerto Vallarta as a modern cultural destination with a high sense of the search for the common good and development through art. Painting, Sculpture, Literature, Music, Installation, Art Object, Dance and much more will be seen in different parts of the city between January 23 and 27, 2019 in the first edition of VALLARTE FESTIVAL. Cultural entities of different natures and for all publics such as the sculptor Alejandro Colunga author of the famous Rotonda del Mar, the poet Eduardo Langagne José Lezama Lima Award 2016, the actress Patricia Bernal, the meeting of poets Letters in the Sea, the school of Visual Arts from the University of Guadalajara at the University Center of the Coast, Los Mangos Library, the ArtWalk art circuit circuit, Arte Clave, ProSantana and many more, will star in the events on the festival calendar this year.
