The Mexico-Vietnam Acupuncture Centre, in the central Mexican state of Zacatecas, held a graduation ceremony for 17 doctors who recently completed their 3-year MA course.

The graduates, who earlier followed a three-month course in Vietnam, were the first in the Latin American region to be awarded the degree in acupuncture.

Speaking at the ceremony, Amalia Garcia Medina, Zacatecas State Governor, spoke highly of the Vietnamese medical professionals that aided the students in their studies and said that the centre's operations were indicative of the growing relationship between Mexico and Vietnam.

Amalia added that the state would further cooperate with Vietnam in the areas of medical, educational, economic, commercial and cultural promotion and expansion.
