 One of the causes cited is American fast food, which is fast replacing traditional staples of the Mexican dietcorn, beans and vegetables as the meal of choice.
 More than 70 million people in Mexico are overweight.
 Another cause of the obesity epidemic may be the large fiestas Mexicans hold during the holidays.
