Mexico City - Health Secretary José Ángel Córdova reported on progress in the diagnosis of 776 samples processed Thursday, which yielded 358 positive samples of the A H1N1 virus, of which 343 patients are alive and under treatment, while 15 have unfortunately died.

The Secretary reported that 11 of these 15 lived in the Federal District, two in Mexico State, one in Oaxaca and one in the state of Tlaxcala. Eleven of these were women and 4 men. He also reported that nine of these 15 were within the 21 to 40 year age range.

Secretary Córdova provided information on the follow-up given to the 86 families of the dead. This brings the number of persons tested for Influenza A to 219, which yielded 4 positive results who were referred to various hospitals.

At the same time, the Health Secretary reported on the achievements of the Health Caravans, which carried out 17,367 preventive actions, provided 2,786 consultations, referred 12 patients to various hospitals and detected 121 patients suspected of having the virus.

The Secretary also reported on the 36,240 doses of medicine for treating infected patients that were distributed.
