“Flicka” Farewell at Mainly Mozart Festival

This year’s Mainly Mozart Festival will be unusually special as world renowned mezzo-soprano Frederica von Stade, known to her fans and friends as “Flicka”, is giving her only San Diego Farewell Tour concert at the Festival on Friday, June 18th.
Described by the The New York Times as “one of America’s finest artists and singers,” “Flicka” - is also one of the most beloved opera singers in the world. Perhaps the New York Newsday best explained why “Flicka” has enchanted the world when they wrote - “Her singing was… something close to ecstasy.”
And when the Denver Post wrote that “Years will come and years will go, yet I may never hear anything as perfect again…” - that is why “Flicka’s” Festival concert is not to be missed.
There area also seven other wonderful Festival concerts. For example, on Friday, June 11th, international musical superstar and virtuoso violinist Sarah Chang will perform.
