Travel 8 Great Places With A Weak Dollar

foXnoMad recommends Armenia, Thailand, Mexico, China, Jordan, Morocco, Micronesia and Venezula.
A weaker dollar makes it harder for the tourists from USA and from other countries using dollars for their international trade and travel to vacation overseas or to make cheap international travels. However, there are 8 wonderful places where the weak dollar is still strong and great deals are very much possible.

The way this kind of cheap international travel is possible is because there are countries where the national currencies are still weaker then the dollar. Some of those countries make up their fiscal power with natural beauty and some, such as Armenia, have made tourism and international travel a top priority of country's economic growth.

foXnoMad recommends Armenia, Thailand, Mexico, China, Jordan, Morocco, Micronesia and Venezula.

Here are reasons from foxnomad why each country is great to travel.

• Morocco - One dollar will get you 8 times the number of Morocan dihrams. The north coast of this tourist friendly nation is warm year round, and a cheap (~$100) short flight from Spain’s Costal del Sol. The best time to experience the soul of Morocco is during the off-peak October-April months.

• Thailand - A trip to Thailand can include nightlife hotspots Patpong and Nana and the southern islands including Phuket and the Phi Phi Islands. Enjoy elephant rides, shark swims, and traditional massage and still have some money leftover.

• Mexico - Although US citizens now need a passport to enter Mexico, the proximity and weak Peso make it an attractive option if you’ve got dollars in your wallet. From Mayan, Aztec, and Olmeca ruins to Cancun’s beaches, spend money on a flight into the country, beginning with Mexico City. I don’t recommend driving in Mexico as it can be dangerous and cost you much more in fuel. The dollar is about ten times more valuable than a Peso.

• China - The USA Today reports that the Chinese Yuan, though currently 8:1 against the US dollar, the government there is thinking of revaluing the currency. Travel to China soon if you can to take advantage of the still-weak Yuan before it strengthens. Consider hiking the Great Wall of China, shopping in Hong Kong, or tour Tibet.

• Jordan - With the end of Ramadan approaching you can enjoy Eid al-Fitr by following the footsteps of Lawrence of Arabia. Visit Petra of Indian Jones fame in a country where your dollar will get you almost 2 times its value in the US. Finally, you can sunbathe at the Jordanian royal family’s favorite Mediterranean coast beach resort, Aqaba.

• Micronesia - If scuba diving is your thing, the island of Yap in Micronesia offers several famous locations to see all types of marine life, including sharks and dolphins. No trip to Micronesia is complete without a manta ray dive, it’s the worlds best place to do so.

• Venezuela - The exchange rate (despite the governments efforts) is good for those carrying greenbacks. Wikitravel has a great primer for travel to this northern South American country.

• Armenia - This small nation nesseld in Asia has been working hard to boost its tourism industry. The 800 year old Geghard monastery built into the mountains of central Armenia or the ancient Garni pagan temple should get your archeology body parts harder than the stones used to create them.
