| (The News) | | Last week, Charo Mejía, President of the Family Development Agency (DIF), revealed the activity schedule for the Christmas festivities entitled “White Christmas” at an event in the facilities of the Recinto Ferial (a local convention center), which will also be the venue for the many Christmas-related activities that the city of Tepic, and the state of Nayarit, has planned for the population.
“We’re working hard because we want this to be a true White Christmas for everyone. We will make sure this time of year becomes an unforgettable beautiful experience,” said Mejía.
The DIF inaugurated an ice rink and a Christmas Village, which will also be accompanied by the Great Parade of Joy, a children’s multimedia program, the Toy Fair, and a Christmas dinner.
Regarding the “Children on Summer Vacations” program, Macías pointed out that the parents can feel safe, since every community in the state will be duly informed of the nature and details of the program. “Our children will have lots and lots of fun,” added the head of the DIF. She also stated that the children’s multimedia program will include several shows and a play.
She said that this year, the Great Parade of Joy will include 44 highly-decorated floats and a story-telling side-event. “I hope everyone comes on December 13 to watch the parade. It’ll go through Mexico Bicentenario Avenue, and Francisco I. Madero street. Parents, please take your children and be sure that they will be kept safe by our government during the event,” said the official.
“I am riveted to say that our state is finally living peacefully. Our streets are safe and we will make sure that everything goes as planned. This is a time for us to celebrate, so we will ensure the safety of our people,” added Mejía.
Regarding the special illumination project, the La Loma and the Mexico Bicentenario Avenues, the Ciudad de las Artes area, and other locations in the city will be filled with Christmas lights.
“We want Tepic, our city, to be as awesome as it gets. Let’s go home and put on the Christmas Tree, let’s put on the Christmas lights, the mistletoe. Let us all celebrate the Yuletide season,” she said.
Lastly, Mejia stated that although the Christmas celebrations are near, there is still work to be done. One hundred trees will be installed in the Recinto Ferial, where the Governor of the State, Ney González, will give his Fifth State of the State Address (Informe). |
