December 20, 2010

Nuevo Vallarta, Rivera Nayarit, Mexico - Grand Velas Riviera Nayarit along with ZipSetGo.com and the Riviera Nayarit Convention & Visitors Bureau recently hosted the first ever remote #TNI (Travelers Night In) tweetchat. The Mexico's Pacific Coast-themed event took place on November 18th as part of the ZipSetGo.com Go Girls Getaway Tweetup Weekend at the resort.

Held in the Grand Velas Lobby Bar and streamed live over the internet, the #TNI event drew great attention to the Nuevo Vallarta and Puerto Vallarta area. Over 3,500 tweets on Mexico's pacific coast were cast, resulting in just under 15.5 million impressions by 950,000+ people, one of the highest yet for any #TNI. The ZipSetGo.com Girls and other major travel influencers, including National Geographic Traveler, travelgirl Magazine, Travel Dudes and Gadling, provided great insights into the minds of travelers, discussing favorite resorts, activities, Mexican food and cultural gems. A favorite of several participants, Vallarta Adventure's Dolphin Encounter received rave reviews from the ZipSetGo.com Go Girls who got to graciously ride the fins and kiss the bottlenose a day prior.

"On the heels of the first ever social media workshops at Casa Velas in Puerto Vallarta and prior to Food Blogger Camp 2011 being held at our sister property in Riviera Maya, Grand Velas Riviera Nayarit excitedly welcomed the ZipSetGo Girls and the rest of the Twitter-verse for #TNI last month," said Rolando Miravete, the resort's Managing Director.

Regularly noted as the largest organized travel chat of its kind and recently a top 10 twitter trending topic in the US, #TNI is a weekly tweetchat that takes place Thursdays from 3:30pm - 5:00pm EST during which a different travel theme is entertained, creating a dynamic interactive discussion within the travel twitter community around the globe.
