Check out the Mexico Today social magazine at facebook.com/mexicotoday. This innovative tactic pushes the envelope of what is possible on Facebook, leveraging community participation from fans.

Mexico Today, an initiative of Marca País, Imagen de México, recently launched its Social Magazine on Facebook, which profiles stories and submissions from leading Mexico bloggers and influencers.

This innovative tactic pushes the envelope of what is possible on Facebook, leveraging community participation from fans to produce a dynamic, evolving socially-curated online publication. The intent is to create a movement leveraging the content of these influencers and submissions from the grassroots.

Content and link submissions are open to the general public who ‘like’ Mexico Today on Facebook. If you are interested in submitting content to the Magazine, you have the option of submitting short links, as well as longer blog posts, and you will be entered to win a gift card in the process.

A multi-phase project, the magazine is built using Involver’s SML language, a WordPress publishing system, and Facebook’s Open Graph. All of the submitted content is likable and shareable, and commenting features foster conversation on an individual article level.

Future phases of the magazine will use the same article database to power an iPad App version of the social magazine. You can check out the social magazine at facebook.com/mexicotoday.
