Puerto Vallarta, Mexico - A Page in the Sun is proud to welcome independent poet Dave Elliot for a reading and book signing of his first published collection of poems at the café-bookstore on January 20, 2012 at 11:00 at Lazaro Cardenas 179, in the heart of Puerto Vallarta's Zona Romantica. The author will read a selection of poems and be on hand to answer questions and sign autographs.
Elliot, 58, is looking forward to returning to Puerto Vallarta as part of his book signing tour. Mr Elliot, originally from Wichita Kansas, has lived throughout the United States and aboard. He was stationed in both Germany and Alaska as an army officer for seven years.
After leaving the army, Dave returned to Alaska and finally settled in Colorado, where he has lived for the last 20 years. When not writing, Dave finds his inspiration in travel and the outdoors. Dave is a manager at senior citizens housing project in Idaho Springs, Colorado.
A Pelican Alone (Synopsis)
A male pelican and his mate fly to the beach in Puerto Vallarta. The female suddenly dies leaving the male, lost and confused, to search desperately for his mate. After several days, the pelican resigns from looking for her to begin his new life alone. In time he regains his strength and experiences the true riches of freedom, to become one of the most beautiful birds around the Pacific Ocean.
