Becas Breakfast at the Fabulous River Café
email this pageprint this pageemail us
January 29, 2011

Open daily from 9 am to 11: 30 pm, The River Cafe is located at Isla Rio Cuale 4 in Old Town Puerto Vallarta. For more information, visit RiverCafe.com.mx.

Puerto Vallarta - At 9:30 am on February 16, 2011, you will see the fabulous River Café brimming with Becas supporters for the fourth Becas Breakfast of the year. The great team of Owners Eva Sanchez and Margarito Larios, Manager Michael Bouffount and Marketing Manager Claudia Diconca are determined to make this the best Becas Breakfast ever.

They have designed a menu certain to please: Fresh Orange Juice, Sweet Breads, Coffee, Mexican Omelette with an Avocado Sauce or Machaca with Refried Beans and Tortillas. The delicious food is always served at just the right temperature and with a friendly smile by the well trained and attentive wait staff.

Now one of Puerto Vallarta’s most respected restaurateurs, River Café Proprietor Evangelina Sánchez had long dreamed of opening a gourmet restaurant in a tropical setting where she could not only provide fine food, but fine music and art. With the help of her husband Margarito Larios and her family, she achieved that dream in the popular River Café.

Constantly upgrading the locale, it now appears to meet the criteria Eva set forth in the beginning. She always engages fine musicians whose mellow sounds mix with the sounds of water falling in the beautiful infinity fountain in the entrance and the sounds of nature coming from a wild life filled Rio Cuale. Her display of Mexican art and her shop where authentic Mexican jewelry is sold, complete her dream.

Becas supporters, who turn out in force for our breakfasts, will enjoy all the River Café offers while supporting the oldest continuous charity in Puerto Vallarta, that in this 50th anniversary year is funding the scholarships of 376 students, 8th grade through university.

As always you may win door prizes including bottles of fine wine from Coyul Licoria just by being there. Then if you buy raffle tickets from our Number 1 Ticket Seller, Len Ambrose, who is flying in from California, you may win fabulous prizes donated by local businesses.

We already have breakfasts from The River Café, La Estancia at the Casa Magna Marriott and La Palapa; Lunch from Hank and Conrad; Dinners from Archie’s Wok, Coco’s Kitchen, Daiquiri Dick’s, Época, No Way José!, and the Red Cabbage; Canopy Tours from Canopy River and Canopy Tour Los Veranos; fine jewelry from Cassandra Shaw and June Rosen; Flowers from Maripepa’s Floart and Flowers to Go, hand crafted ladies purse from Tapiz and Lalo Morales; membership to Vallarta Botanical Garden; Pilates lesson from Marcelo Mico and more.

Tickets to the River Café breakfast remain a low $150 pesos and must be purchased in advance. We sold out days before the Daiquiri Dick’s Breakfast, so get your tickets now. You may get them from any member of Becas or by calling me at 223-1371 or 044-322-182-0215 or emailing me at phvicars(at)gmail.com. See you there?
