The brand-new 5-star Riu Vallarta offers 550 world-class rooms and suites, some of which include jacuzzis, all with the “round-the-clock, all inclusive by RIU” formula that features the high standards of service which has earned the chain international acclaim.

"Puerto Vallarta is an especially magical destination, which is why we have decided to devote our efforts to expanding the variety of unique attractions it offers," declared Luis Riu, the chain’s chief executive, during a recent visit to construction works on the establishment, which he is personally supervising down to the last detail.

Riu Vallarta is located right on the shores of the Pacific Ocean and boasts an elegant 9-story building that stands opposite famous Flamingo Beach, just a few metres from ClubHotel Riu Jalisco, which RIU inaugurated in May 2002.

Just one kilometre away is the renowned, 18-hole Flamingos Golf Club, scene of the region’s most important tournaments, and Puerto Vallarta shopping centre with its art deco buildings.

Food and fun

Riu Vallarta has a very extensive culinary selection on offer: aside from round-the-clock food and beverage service at no extra charge, guests can partake of a range of special dishes in its many different restaurants.

At “Don Rafael”, the main restaurant, guests can sample exquisite Mexican and international cuisine, including a wide array of hot and cold dishes, on the spot cooking, a large selection of desserts and a theme buffet twice a week.

Guests can also enjoy a la carte dishes at the “Sir George” restaurant, Asian specialities at “Nirvana”, meat and fresh fish dishes at “Flamingo Playa” and meat specialities on the terrace of the “Steakhouse” restaurant.

Joining the restaurants are the resort’s choice of bars with their different atmospheres: the “Astoria” lobby bar, "La Boheme" lounge bar, the "Sports Bar", the "Plaza" and the "Mezcal" swimming pool bar, all of which provide pleasant spots in which to enjoy exotic cocktails or sample local or international drinks.

Furthermore, the resort offers two swimming pools with integrated jacuzzis, a children’s pool, play park, miniclub, fitness centre, sauna and spa equipped with a wide range of massages and beauty treatments to pamper oneself with.

Water sports such as windsurfing, sailing, snorkelling and scuba diving trials in the swimming pool are also available at Riu Vallarta.

The hotel entertainment team organises all kinds of activities for adults, young people and children. Not only that, live performances and sessions in “Pacha” nightclub enliven evenings at the resort, which is the one of the main attractions for music and dance lovers.

Congresses and incentive trips

RIU Vallarta also offers two especially designed meeting rooms and a wide range of complementary services for hosting corporate and incentive trips, as well as business meetings and conventions.

RIU Hotels & Resorts is the 28th ranked hotel chain in the world, according the American magazine “Hotels”, with 109 hotels in 18 countries, over 18,000 employees and more than two million guests a year.

The chain has been operating in Mexico since 1997. With the inauguration of Riu Vallarta, RIU now has a total of 6,035 rooms on offer in the country. RIU’s Mexican resorts are located in Playa del Carmen (6), Cancun (3), Puerto Vallarta (2) and Los Cabos (1).

RIU resorts in Mexico have won a number of awards and enjoy the highest occupancy rates and guest satisfaction ratings.

RIU is also present in other spots in the Caribbean, such as the Dominican Republic, Florida, Cuba, Jamaica, Aruba and the Bahamas.
