Riu Jalisco rises from an oasis of palms along a golden beach facing the beautiful turquoise waters of the Pacific, just a stone's throw from Puerto Vallarta´s great shopping and nightlife. Visit the website for more info.

Following the recent completion and grand opening of the new $150 million Riu Santa Fe in Cabo San Lucas, Riu Hotels & Resorts commenced construction of its newest Mexican property. The Riu Palace Pacifico will be RIU’s third hotel in Puerto Vallarta and bring Riu Palace level accommodations, luxuries and amenities to this popular destination for the first time.

“Puerto Vallarta is a truly vibrant and wonderful city ideal for leisure vacations imbued with fun, festivity and excitement,” said Luis Riu, CEO and Owner of Riu Hotels & Resorts. “When complete, the Riu Palace Pacifico will provide a new level of sophistication and elegance to travelers selecting this dynamic destination.”

Located just nine miles from downtown Puerto Vallarta in close proximity to RIU’s two other hotels in the region – Riu Vallarta and Riu Jalisco – the Riu Palace Pacifico will feature 484 luxurious junior suites, a lush beachfront property and an array of all-inclusive amenities, facilities, restaurants, bars and activities. Envisioned and designed to meet the exacting standards that define Riu Palace hotels, the Riu Palace Pacifico will provide RIU’s highest levels of luxury, comfort and service.

Set to open in October 2008, the Riu Palace Pacifico will be RIU’s 14th Mexican resort including six resorts in Playa del Carmen, three in Cancun, two in Puerto Vallarta and two in Cabo San Lucas.

Beginning in 1997 with the opening of Riu Yucatan, Riu Hotels & Resorts has invested over 1.6 billion USD to construct and create luxurious properties throughout Mexico.

Riu Hotels & Resorts, a family owned business, was founded in 1953 in Mallorca. The international resort chain led by brother and sister Luis and Carmen Riu is with more than 100 Hotels, one of the most well respected and well-recognized hotel chains in the world. Riu employs 20,000 individuals and offers 36.000 rooms in 17 countries, including Aruba, Bahamas, Dominican Republic, Florida, Jamaica and Mexico.
