Puerto Vallarta joins the list of five destinations that have been added from Charlotte in the last 18 months.
Puerto Vallarta, Jalisco - US Airways (NYSE:LCC) is gearing up for the busy summer travel season by announcing four new routes, allowing customers to escape to cool days in Canada and hot summer nights in Mexico. The new service will originate from the airline's Philadelphia and Charlotte, N.C. hubs.

Customers started booking their summer travel beginning on March 13. With this new service, customers can choose to go north to Ottawa or Halifax, Nova Scotia, or head south of the border to Puerto Vallarta or Los Cabos, Mexico.

US Airways Senior Vice President, Marketing and Planning, Andrew Nocella said, "The addition of these new routes means more choices and convenient access to the destinations our customers want when they fly with US. Our East Coast customers will now be able to reach Mexico's sunny beaches and Canada's majestic East Coast with one-stop service."

On May 31, US Airways will begin daily, year-round service from its largest hub to Ottawa on a 50-seat CRJ-200 regional jet operated by US Airways Express partner Air Wisconsin. On June 5, year-round service will commence to Puerto Vallarta and Los Cabos, Mexico; both routes will operate on an Airbus A319 aircraft with seating for 124 customers (12 First Class, 112 main cabin). The new service to Mexico complements US Airways' existing service to both cities from its Phoenix hub.

Puerto Vallarta, Los Cabos and Ottawa join the list of five other destinations that have been added from Charlotte in the past 18 months, including service to Rome starting May 13, and service to Honolulu and Rio de Janeiro, Brazil which started in December.
