The promotional efforts being made by the OCV are the result of the strategic vision of the State Governor, Ney Gonzalez Sanchez.
In 2010, the Convention and Visitors Bureau is carrying out marketing campaigns jointly with the CPTM, commercial partners, and also independently.

The promotional efforts conducted by Riviera Nayarit to boost tourism in 2010 are evident in the marketing campaigns that the Convention and Visitors Bureau (CVB) is executing in renowned publications.

The CVB has approximately twenty marketing campaigns currently underway, some of which are being executed jointly with commercial partners and with the Mexican Council for the Promotion of Tourism (CPTM). These campaigns are being implemented on an international level and focus on promoting Riviera Nayarit's image, aiming to attract more visitors to this destination.

Since last June, Riviera Nayarit has been working intensively with the CTPM and the Secretariat of Tourism, led by Gloria Guevara Manzo. With some issues still to be defined, this campaign will last until next December.

Using the CPTM's slogan: "Mexico. The place you thought you knew", the CVB is implementing a positioning strategy of the destination's image in the United States through publications like Travel Weekly, Travel Age West, Talk Travel Magazine and Recommend, which focus on the travel agent market in the United States. These campaigns will also be geared towards end consumers though an Internet campaign with Comcast.com, Timewarner.com and Travel & Leisure magazine.

The CVB is also implementing international campaigns jointly with the leading tour operators and airlines, including inserts on in-flight magazines and lighted billboards in some airports in the United States. Delta Airlines, US Airways, Continental Airlines, Alaska Airlines, Transat and Sunwing are some of the current partners.

For this winter's Football season, an ambitious marketing campaign relative to the launch of the 2011 Dallas Cowboys Cheerleaders Calendar is being planned.

The OCV of Riviera Nayarit will also be conducting marketing efforts with those wholesalers that attract the largest number of tourists to our destination, like Gogo Tours, Expedia, Travelocity, Orbitz, Apple, Funjet, Total Vacations, Thomas Cook, Bookit and Itravel2000, amongst others. A total of 18 marketing campaigns are being projected in the United States and Canada.

In Mexico, the Vive Mexico campaign by the CPTM involves placing inserts in important publications aimed towards high-end product consumers, as well as other media that focus on the potential consumer, and print media that is distributed amongst tourism professionals like Asesoria Turistica, Conceptos Turisticos and ABZ Turistico.

The national campaign currently taking place under this slogan involves direct marketing efforts with travel agents, like the promotional tours for destinations that have taken place in several cities in Jalisco, el Bajio and Mexico City.

The Boat Show, the Nautical Extravaganza, the International Tuna and Marlin Fishing Tournament of Riviera Nayarit, the Touristic Half-Marathon, as well as nautical tourism, culinary tourism and the Vive Mexico in a Photo contest have served to launch thematic campaigns in the national market. Some of these campaigns are being executed jointly with the CPTM, and others independently by the OVC.

On a national level, the OCV is also working with commercial partners like Interjet and Aeromexico through its Gran Plan magazine. In 2010, twenty campaigns focusing on the national market have been planned.

The promotional efforts being made by the OCV are the result of the strategic vision of the State Governor, Ney Gonzalez Sanchez, who has defined tourism as a key activity for the economic development of Nayarit, as defined in the State Development Plan, and also through the dedicated support of the Secretariat of Tourism, led by Gloria Guevara Manzo.
