Gis Festival Returns to Riviera Nayarit

This 2011, in addition to the specialty of urban art and gastronomy of Riviera Nayarit, prepare to enjoy a craft exhibition and a jazz concert.
The Festival of Gis and its traditional gastronomic show, El Sabor, in Riviera Nayarit, is targeted to return in 2011, from January 19-21, with greater vigor and many innovations that will make this 2011 especially attractive.

Specialists in the art of drawing with Gis, using techniques of urban art in third dimension, both local and from different parts of the world, have been invited to participate in projects under the theme "Los Niños de Nayarit" competing for prizes in cash for the first and second place. You can appreciate his work from Wednesday, January 19. In addition, Friday, January 21, will offer workshops to teach the technique to nearly 150 in the community.

The artist will be performing his works on the street of Lázaro Cárdenas in Bucerias, just between the junction with Benito Juárez and Galeana, where the streets will be closed for motor vehicles.

This innovative exhibition of urban art festival, El Sabor, will include the special attraction of restaurants which will be offering sandwiches and specialties at discount prices ranging from 10 to 30 pesos. Also, there may be local artisans working and offering their products for this event.

On Thursday, January 20, Armi will perform, a saxophonist who will deliver musical notes while visitors can enjoy the works of art, specials in restaurants and other amenities and proceeds shall be delivered to the Hands of Love, Bucerias Craft Club orphanage and Bucerias Chalk Art Walk.

Office Visitors and Conventions (OVC) in Riviera Nayarit congratulates Christy Beguesse, Founder, and the entire team of volunteers participating in the Festival of the Gis, the taste of Nayarit and Bucerias Art Walk, because with this work on this second anniversary of the festivals, it will contribute to consolidating the destination for those tourists and locals who are looking for a very special cultural and gastronomic experience.
