Vallarta Yacht Club Spring Fling Series Returns

April 14, 2011

For two weekends, April 16-17th and May 7-8th, a parade of 22 + foot sailing and power vessels will infuse the Bahía de Banderas with color during the Spring Fling, a yearly event organized by the VYC.

Puerto Vallarta is ready to enjoy a show to celebrate the good weather that comes with spring around the world. The Spring Fling Series is a yearly event organized by the Vallarta Yacht Club at the Paradise Village Resort Marina in Nuevo Vallarta, which assembles nautical enthusiasts to sail in groups around Bahía de Banderas.

The Spring Fling Series is an event created to enjoy and rejoice; a fantastic parade of vessels that dot the waters of Bahia de Banderas with color. Ships sail in groups for over 24 hours, meaning that they spend the night at the bay.

The spring winds in Bahia de Banderas are an attraction in their own right, regardless of whether they're used to propel the vessel or if they're simply used to enjoy the sunny days of this season onboard a motor yacht. For this reason, the Vallarta Yacht Club has chosen April 16 and 17, as well as May 7 and 8 to do this activity.

All sail and power boats over 22 ft are invited to participate. We'll cruise beautiful Banderas Bay enjoying the great wind that springtime brings to our little piece of paradise. Then, we'll look for a spot where we can spend the night and enjoy the local restaurants, cruising back the following day.

The Banderas Bay area is one of the leading destinations in the world for nautical tourism, as it offers the most modern marinas, specialists in fiberglass, technicians that can fix all your vessel's gadgets, as well as fabulous restaurants, luxurious hotels and every modern amenity.

In addition to the Spring Fling Series, the Vallarta Yacht Club actively promotes nautical tourism through maritime events like the yearly International Bahía de Banderas Regatta and the Biennial Vallarta Race, a regatta that departs from San Diego, California.
