Puerto Vallarta, Mexico - Orchids can brighten up a home, an office or a garden. The variety of orchids available is almost unlimited. IF you know how to care for your orchids, you can enjoy them for many years to come.

On Saturday, November 26, at 1 pm, T.J. Hartung of the Vallarta Orchid Society will cover the basics of orchid care for both orchids in the home or office, and orchids in the garden. The talk will be at the Vallarta Botanical Gardens and is free of charge. There is a small entrance fee to the gardens for non-members.

Learn how to care for your orchids without killing them, and enjoy the botanical gardens at the same time.

The Vallarta Botanical Gardens has a large collection of orchids and other plants from the area. They have many orchids for sale, as well as potting materials and a variety of pots. Also, you’ll find a restaurant, a swimming hole in the river, shade houses where young plants get their start and a number of trails through the jungle areas. For more information on the Botanical Gardens, visit their website at vbgardens.org.

The gardens are located 24 Km south of town, just 3 Km past Chico’s Paradise. The bus to El Tuito will stop at the entrance to the Gardens, and will return you to town.
