Explore Mexico's Copper Canyon with Superior Tours Vallarta

January 30, 2012
There is so much to see during the Superior Tours Copper Canyon trip. It is much bigger and has deeper canyons and than the Grand Canyon in the United States.

Puerto Vallarta Mexico - Superior Tours Vallarta is once again offering their successful tours to Mexico's Copper Canyon. As a certified Copper Canyon Specialist, owner Astrid van Dam has the only travel agency in Puerto Vallarta that offers both group tours and individually arranged tours.

"The Copper Canyon has deeper canyons and is much bigger than the Grand Canyon in the US," Astrid says. "The main attraction along this journey is of course the train ride, but there is so much to see during the trip. Because the Spanish never really had the possibility to reach the whole area, the Tarahumara indigenous people, or Raramuri as they call themselves, are considered the most traditional indigenous tribe in Mexico. During our trip we take the clients to a school for Tarahumara children, so they can learn as much as possible about these native people."

Of course, the location of Hotel Mirador, the most famous of the canyon, is another reason why people go on this trip. Situated on the top of the canyon, all of the hotel rooms look out over the ravine. The view alone is a once in a lifetime experience.

Two of the newer attractions in the Copper Canyon are the cable car and the Canopy Tour. "I will go myself this coming March," states Astrid. "During the past few years I have watched them constructing the cable car, but I have not yet had opportunity to go myself. This has to be one of the most exciting attractions up there."
