April 11, 2012

Puerto Vallarta, Mexico - This year About.com has ranked Puerto Vallarta as the "Favorite Beach Destination in Mexico" on the popular website's "Reader’s Choice Awards." Our little slice of heaven on the Bay of Banderas was previously chosen as the "Most Romantic Place in Mexico 2012" by the website's readers. The recipients of the Readers Choice Awards are voted on by the readers of the About.com website.

Founded in 1996, About.com is one of the most important and busiest sites among the US populace and has more than 46 million unique visitors monthly. It is recognized as one of the Top Ten sites in the United States due to its broad content and accuracy on various topics such as health, technology, food, and travel.

Competing within the category of favorite beaches in Mexico were PV, Cancun, Huatulco, Los Cabos, and Riviera Maya. The voting took place from February 22nd to March 21st.

Puerto Vallarta has also become one of the favorite destinations for romance, proven by the thousands of weddings performed in Vallarta each year, and it's recent recognition as the “Most Romantic Place in Mexico 2012" as it was voted by the website's readers.

In 2011, the readers of the prestigious magazine Condé Nast chose Puerto Vallarta as the "Friendliest City in the World," and we were awarded the title of "Best Place to Retire in the World" by the AARP in 2010.

That same year, the city was named "Best Holiday Destination in Mexico" by USNews.com.
