Rollin' Down the Highway with Realtor Edward Padalinski

July 30, 2012

Padalinski has been riding motorcycles since his 'mid-life crises' in 2002. His latest purchase is a 1988 BMW R100GS, a dual purpose off-road/on-road bike perfect for this 3-country ride.

Puerto Vallarta, Mexico - "Get your motor runnin'... Head out on the highway... Lookin' for adventure..." The 1968 Steppenwolf song pretty much sums up Edward Padalinski's latest excursion. The real estate agent at Ron Morgan Properties in Puerto Vallarta and Bucerķas, Mexico, is revving up his motorcycle and will be clocking thousands of miles across three countries during the next couple of months.

"This will be my longest trek ever," says Edward, who founded the Denver Rocky Mountain Motorcycle Rider's Club in 2004 and was its president for many years. "I guess you could say that I was doing the mid-life crises thing," he laughs. "I had a successful career on many levels and started thinking about the next phase of my life." Edward later relocated to Puerto Vallarta.

Padalinski has been riding motorcycles since his "crises" in 2002. His latest purchase is a 1988 BMW R100GS. It's a dual purpose off-road/on-road bike. GS refers to Gelände (German) Sport. The bike is distinguished from other BMW models by the longer travel suspension, an upright riding position and a larger front wheel. It is the popular choice with adventure motorcyclists and travelers. Obviously he has chosen wisely for the big ride.

His motorcycle club has traversed the western United States and beyond. "We have done tons of organized rides," says Edward, "The experience is all about the people and places. It's the camaraderie, the socializing and this group always finds the food in our various destinations tantalizing." The group's motto, It's Not Just About the Ride. They really live up to it.

Twelve riders headed out from the Denver area on Saturday July 28, 2012. The first leg of the journey will take them to the province of Newfoundland in Canada. The group will be joined by other riders along the way. "This is my first trip to the northeast," says Edward, "I can't wait to check out different scenery." He comments that you really get a chance to view the terrain differently and more personally when traveling by motorcycle.

Follow Edward on his trek from the USA to Canada, back through the USA and then to Mexico on the Ron Morgan Properties' blog. There will be photos and stories from the road. Live your traveling yen through Edward's journey. Then wait for his personal notes, because this ride will be the topic of his next book.
