La Cruz de Huanacaxtle, Mexico - Sailing time! La Cruz Yacht Club at Marina Riviera Nayarit is organizing a regatta for the first weekend of September. The competition is open to all sailors, and will follow the ISAF 2009 rules featuring the following categories:

• Optimist Boys
• Optimist Girls
• Optimist Beginners
• Laser Radial
• Laser
• Windsurf

Registration will be on Saturday, September 1st at 9 am, and there is a registration fee of $200 pesos per participant. Regatta instructions will be posted on the official Club notice board. Trophies will be awarded to the winners in all categories.

The Competition Program is as follows:

Saturday, September 1st – Optimist, Laser and Windsurf

9-11:30 am: Registration

12 pm: Captain's meeting

1 pm: First Regatta (additional regattas immediately following)

Lunch at the Sailing Center once all competitions of the day are finished.

Sunday, September 2 – Optimist, Laser, Windsurf

1 pm: First Regatta (additional regattas immediately following)

5:30 pm: Last attention call for all categories

Even if you are not a sailor, watching the regatta from the Yacht Club at Marina Riviera Nayarit is a great way to spend a late summer the weekend. The Marina’s Ikuai Sailor Pub is open every Saturday and Sunday from 1-6 pm, and is currently featuring its famed mango-lime and strawberry margaritas for just $1.50 USD!
