Canada's Sunwing Spreads its Wings to Puerto Vallarta

Puerto Vallarta, Mexico - Just as travelers are beginning to plan their winter getaways, Sunwing is making it easy for residents of Alberta, Canada to fly to southern destinations by adding Fort McMurray and Grande Prairie to this popular airline's list of departure airports.

And it just keeps getting better. Starting December 19, 2012, Sunwing will offer weekly flights from Alberta's cold and snowy weather to the warm and sunny beaches of Puerto Vallarta, Mexico every Wednesday through March 20, 2013.

"Sunwing has been working on programs from Calgary and Edmonton to sunnier climes with great success throughout the year, and the response of travelers and travel agents in Alberta has been very positive," the airline's vice president of sales and marketing, Daryl McWilliams, said.

"Sunwing is famous for our 'bringing the plane to your door' program, which offers Canadian communities direct air service to marvelous beach destinations, so we are proud for having added Fort McMurray and Grande Prairie to our list of departure cities," he declared.

This announcement adds to the winter season arrivals of charter flights to the Banderas Bay region. Earlier this year, Air Transat announced that it will be connecting cities from Eastern Canada to Puerto Vallarta starting in December, but it remains to be seen whether these connections will be available two or three times a week.
