Riviera Nayarit Represented at Brazil's Tourism Fair

October 18, 2012

Riviera Nayarit, Mexico - In Riviera Nayarit luxury is our magic and, following the success of the annual Lideres Empresariales (LIDE) meeting that was held in Punta de Mita, that magic will be presented this October 24th - 26th in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil for the "Tourism Fair of the Americas," hosted by the Brazilian Association of Travel Agents. LIDE is the most influential business body in Brazil.

The Conventions and Visitors Bureau of Riviera Nayarit will deploy major promotional efforts for this show, as one of the goals for 2012 is to diversify to new markets, not to only lean on what has been the traditional tourism sources for Mexico. Achieving an invitation to Brazil's largest trade show for the travel agent industry, is one such step.

"Mexico's Pacific Treasure" will showcase its natural attractions along with the Mexico Tourism Board, Huitchol Art, the Ballet Mexcaltitan, and Nayarit gastronomy, which will be supervised by Chef Betty Vázquez and Café Riviera Nayarit.

Meetings with Brazilian airlines, tour operators, and wholesaler agencies, have already resulted in business appointments being set up for the event, which is aimed at joining efforts to attract Brazilian travelers to Riviera Nayarit.

The market for luxury goods in Brazil is 2.3 billion dollars a year making it the largest in Latin America. It grows by 35 percent every year according to MCF Fashion, a Brazilian Consultancy specializing in Market Research for High-End Products. Capturing this market represents an important opportunity for Riviera Nayarit.

A special focus will be placed on travel agents through a workshop and two breakfast-seminars, one in Rio de Janeiro and the other in Sao Paolo, where training for Riviera Nayarit as well as Puerto Vallarta will be offered.
