Mariana 'Barbie' Juarez to Fight at Hard Rock Vallarta

September 12, 2013

On October 12, Mariana 'Barbie' Juarez will star in a boxing event at Hard Rock Hotel Vallarta. The fights will be broadcast on national television by Televisa and to Central and South America via the Sky system.

Riviera Nayarit, Mexico - Everything is ready for Riviera Nayarit to experience one of the most important boxing matches of the year on a national scale. Mariana "Barbie" Juarez, ranked first in the World Boxing Council (WBC), will face off with Thailand's Buakaew Onesongchaigym on October 12 in the ring to be installed at Hard Rock Hotel Vallarta.

This stellar event, which includes seven bouts, will be broadcast on national television by Televisa and to Central and South America via the Sky satellite system.

"Truly this is a real knockout in terms of tourism promotion, because we will be presenting world-class entertainment to all our visitors, which adds to the attractions of sun and sand in our destination, but at the same time, during transmissions they will talk about the natural beauty, tourism infrastructure and all the advantages of visiting Riviera Nayarit, so we win all-around," said Marc Murphy, Riviera Nayarit Convention and Visitors Bureau CEO.

"I want the fight date to get here so that the world may know Riviera Nayarit for the quality of its people and for being a tourist destination so beautiful it makes you want to stay here," Mariana 'Barbie' Juarez said.

For the administration, attaining this type of event is an achievement for all sectors, especially Governor Roberto Sandoval Castañeda, who wanted to boost tourism and create more job opportunities and a better economy for the entire population of Nayarit. The alliance of private initiatives, hotels, tourism service providers, and society work together to achieve this goal.

Since the creation of the brand Riviera Nayarit, attracting high quality tourism with a low impact on the environment has been the top priority for the industry. It is not only a question of marketing, but also a strategy to achieve comprehensive development of the community that will raise not only economic indicators but the welfare of the general public as well. High performance sports are a key niche to achieve that goal.

The strong momentum that Riviera Nayarit receives through activities like this boxing event not only attracts tourists but also the specialized media that follow such events.

The CVB is a non-profit civil association that operates under the auspices of the Bay of Banderas Association of Hotels and Motels to promote Riviera Nayarit, as demonstrated by these actions that promote tourism and the development of all Nayaritas, as instructed by the Governor of the People.
