54th International San Blas Fishing Tournament

The 54th San Blas Riviera Nayarit Fishing Tournament is scheduled to take place May 28th through June 1st at the Marina Fonatur in the historic Port of San Blas.

Competitions will be held in three categories: sailfish, marlin and dorado. Every year, the top winner in each category is entered into the "Hall of Fame." This year they'll be welcoming anglers from Nayarit, Jalisco, Sinaloa, Guanajuato and Veracruz among other states, as well as sportsmen from the U.S. and Canada.

According to event organizers, this year's tournament offers more than four million pesos in prizes, including new cars, boat motors, and professional fishing equipment. And. with anglers from around the world vying to beat the current sailfish record of 70 Kg and win a new car, this year’s event promises some hot and heavy competition.

"This year we're expecting to surpass the 63-boat registration record we established last year and thus keep our status as The Best Fishing Tournament in the Mexican Pacific," said Francisco Navarrete Buhaya, General Manager of the fishing tournament.

3rd Annual La Cruz International Fishing Tournament

The International Fishing Tournament of La Cruz de Huanacaxtle enters its third year in 2014, with last year’s competition drawing hundreds of participants from all over the world.

This year’s tournament begins on October 15th and ends on October 19th, featuring 3.5 million pesos in prizes. Scheduled to be held at the Marina Riviera Nayarit in La Cruz de Huanacaxtle, this third annual event promises some hot and heavy competition in the sailfish, marlin, tuna and dorado categories.
