Vallarta Cup Race Series - Every Saturday in January

go to original
December 31, 2014

Approximately 25 boats will get together at the Paradise Village Marina in Nuevo Vallarta the first four Saturdays of the year to enjoy the camaraderie that comes with the sport of sailing in Banderas Bay.

Nuevo Vallarta, Nayarit, Mexico - As happens every year, the traditional Vallarta Cup Race Series will be celebrated on the first four Saturdays of the month of January (3, 10, 17, 24) and will signal the start of the activities for 2015 in the Riviera Nayarit.

Organized by the Vallarta Yacht Club (VYC), the event will include the participation of approximately 25 boats mostly from the Marina Riviera Nayarit in La Cruz de Huanacaxtle, the Marina in Puerto Vallarta and the Paradise Village Marina in Nuevo Vallarta, which will also serve as headquarters for the race.

This nautical event was created to be more than just a competition, as it welcomes participants to fully enjoy and take advantage of the natural bounty of Banderas Bay. In fact, it is so accommodating that new participants can register even after the competition is already underway.

Andy Barrow, the Vallarta Yacht Club's Commodore, is grateful for the support of the Riviera Nayarit Convention and Visitors Bureau (CVB), a sentiment echoed by the bureau.

"We're grateful for their support of everything we do; the CVB is key to bringing this event to fruition," observed Andy Barrow.

Marc Murphy, Managing Director of the Riviera Nayarit CVB, commented he was very pleased to have an ally like the VYC organizing sailing events that promote the destination throughout the entire year. The multilateral benefits of this event filters through to the commercial arena, as after every competition a theme party is held that includes a dinner serving dishes from local restaurants and plenty of music to create a fun ambiance.

For registration and more information, please contact the VYC at 01 (322) 297-2222 or office(at)vallartayachtclub.org. Their official website is VallartaYachtClub.org.
