Mexico to Televise the Fight of the Century for Free

If you don't want to pay $100 USD for the Mayweather vs. Pacquiao fight, you might want to head south of the border, because the entire country of Mexico is getting the fight for FREE!

Las Vegas, Nevada - In the United States, the cheapest way for boxing fans to watch the Fight of the Century is to purchase a standard definition stream and watch it on their televisions. And if they want to enjoy the fight in high definition, they'll have to spend a little extra cash.

In Mexico, potential buyers won't have that dilemma. They won't have to worry about dropping close to a $100 dollars to watch the long-awaited brawl between Floyd Mayweather and Manny Pacquiao. Because in Mexico, the Fight of the Century will be televised completely free of charge.

According to TMZ, both Televisa and Azteca - competitors in Mexico's TV market - will be airing the fight.

"Televisa and Azteca must be recognized for their great commitment, for bringing to Mexico this bout for free," the World Boxing Council told TMZ. "This has never, ever happened in any country of the world."

Of course, Mexico is heavily invested in the fight. The Mexican Tourism Board is sponsoring the fight and the official beer of the fight is Tecate, which is based out of Monterrey, Mexico. The two sponsors helped the Fight of the Century bring in a record $13.2 million in sponsorship money.

And, even though an entire country won't have to purchase pay-per-view to see the fight, the sales generated via PPV should smash yet another record.
