Puerto Vallarta, Mexico - Sheraton Buganvilias Tennis Club Director Martin Parra announced a new tennis tournament this week that will run from November 6th - November 8th, 2015. 22 other tournaments throughout all of Mexico are also included and as of the weekend of October 16th, 19 of the Peugot sponsored tournaments have been concluded.

The first tournament, in what is being billed as "The Biggest Tennis Tournament in Mexico," began in Pachuca and Veracruz in March. Look at a map of Mexico and just about every city you can see has participated. Puerto Vallarta is the 22nd stop and only Guadalajara follows at Club San Javier the following week.

The Sheraton Buganvilias Tennis Club's four newly refurbished lighted hard courts will see action from early morning until nighttime depending on the amount of entries. Martin has always been one to promote tennis in Puerto Vallarta on the Mexican level as well as the on international level. Expect players to travel to our destination to participate in the tournament, as well as locals and tourists that begin to arrive in late October.

This tournament has a pleasant twist to it. Everyone that signs up to play in all 23 cities will receive a raffle ticket. All will be guarded until all the tournaments have been played and then names will be drawn for the prizes. We are not talking tee shirts or towels; those are included in the $350 peso inscription fee to register, along with balls, free Gatorade, a subscription to GRIP, a tennis magazine, and a closing lunch after the awards ceremonies. We are talking BIG Prizes.

The grand prize is a trip for two to Roland Garros in Paris, France to attend the 2016 French Open, with airfare, hotel and tournament seats paid for.

The two second prizes are two trips for two to the HSBC 2016 Mexican Open to be held in Acapulco, Mexico.

The five third prizes are a set of five kits of Wilson products. Wilson is also a sponsor of the tournament.

Just the opportunity to win the Grand Prize is worth an entry fee even without playing. It took a lot of work by tennis clubs throughout Mexico to come up with this novel concept.

Expected are 130 or more participants in Puerto Vallarta in all categories, both singles and doubles. The categories are:

• Men's and women's doubles as well as mixed doubles
• Men's and women's singles that include categories A, B, C and D playing levels
• Kids tournaments with age groupings at 10, 12 and 14 years of age

To register or for more information, go to the Sheraton Tennis Club and see Tennis Director Martin Parra or Assistant Director Roberto Padilla. If you need to call, the toll free number in Mexico is +52 (800) 326-4600 and reserve a spot in the event.

As previously mentioned, Peugeot is the main sponsor and other sponsors are Wilson, Gatorade, GRIP magazine, Sports Properties, USANA and Proyectos Deportivos.

Good luck to all and I will see you there!
