Riviera Nayarit, Mexico - The 8th Lo de Marcos Surf Fishing Tournament is ready to go from October 24-25, 2015. This itinerant tournament travels along the beaches of Nayarit and is presented by the Club Surf Fishing Tepic with the support of the Riviera Nayarit Convention and Visitors Bureau.

On Saturday, October 24th, there will be a traditional "warm-up" from 4 pm to 7 pm at a cost of $70 pesos. The competition begins at 5 am on Sunday, October 25th, with a registration cost of $200 pesos. Registration will be open up to an hour before the tournament begins.

Prizes are as follows: 1st place takes 40% of the money collected; 2nd place wins 25% of the money collected; and 3rd place takes home 10%; all places also receive prizes in kind on behalf of the sponsors. The funds collected during the warm-up will be destined to the 4th place winner on the general board.

Fishing will be done from the beach with rod, reel and lure only (no bait). In order to support the conservation of the species they will only qualify captures with a minimum weight as follows: 1 kg for Snook, Sea Bass, Sierra, Red Snapper and Halibut; and 2 kg for Yellowtail, Skipjack, Mahi Mahi, Needle Fish and Rooster Fish.

The maximum limit for captures to be presented is five per participant, from which they will consider the heaviest one. In case of a tie in weight, the length of the fish will be measured with the winner being the longest.

The captures must be presented for the weigh-in before 3 pm, in good condition and without any signs of dehydration or decomposition.
