April 27, 2016

The return of 'King' David Estrada (left) is set for Saturday, April 30 at the Coliseo Deportivo Municipal "Luis Donaldo Colossi" in Jamay, Jalisco. It will be Estrada's first bout since 2013.

Jalisco, Mexico – Eric de Guzman's Alberta based Teofista Boxing in association with La Reina Promotions and Ring Mundial Promotions are proud to present the return of 'King' David Estrada (26-6, 16 KOs) next Saturday, April 30 in Jalisco, Mexico.

It will be Estrada's first bout since 2013 and he will headline the latest installment of Teofista Boxing Series Mexico #3 – Batalla en el Lago, live from Jamay Jalisco at Coliseo Deportivo Municipal "Luis Donaldo Colossi."

The popular series has caught fire in Mexico and next Saturday's third installment comes very quickly after two successful cards in the last six weeks. Teofista Boxing Series Mexico is aimed at building prospects into contenders as well as resurrecting the careers of former contenders and world titleists.

Since the inception of the series on March 27 at the Malecon Municipal de Jamay, local Jalisco fight fans have rallied around the product and become endeared to local stable of fighters. The follow-up gala on April 16 held at the Plaza Principal brought out the mayor of Jamay who has since become one of the series' biggest supporters.

Canadian based, Mexican-born Alejandro Torres has been a staple of the series so far and has quickly created a rabid fan base in Jalisco (including the aforementioned mayor). The quick-handed lightweight who has since been dubbed 'Azteca de Oro' has picked up crowd-pleasing second and third round knockouts over Jonathan Gonzalez and Joaquin Vargas respectively.

April 30th's Gala is also slated to see the influx of several other Canadian Teofista fighters including C.P.B.C. junior middleweight champion Stuart McLellan, Alberta amateur star turned fast rising pro prospect Devin Reti, and Manitoba junior middleweight prospect Noel Harding (the newest member of de Guzman's fold having recently come to terms with the western Canadian outfit).
