Puerto Vallarta, Mexico - The 13th Annual Puerto Vallarta Half Marathon and 5K Competition will be run on Sunday, November 6, 2016. As part of the Mexican circuit of marathons and half-marathons, some of the best runners from all over Mexico as well as athletes from other countries participate in this popular race every year.

Limited to 500 participants, this year's competition will divided into the following age categories: Open: 18-29, Masters A: 30-39, Masters B: 40-49, Masters C: 50-59, and Masters D: for runners aged 60 and older. The competition includes a 21km half marathon that starts promptly at 6:50 am, and the 5km race beginning 10 minutes later, at 7:00 am sharp.

Since its inception, the Puerto Vallarta Half Marathon and 5K race's starting line has been at the Agustin Flores Contreras Sports Stadium across from the Sheraton, and this year is no exception. The race will be run in the central lanes of Av. Francisco Medina Ascencio, heading north. The return for the 5k runners will be at the Holiday Inn Hotel (Km 2.5) and, for the 21k runners, it will be at Plaza Iguana in a circuit of two laps. (The return will be pointed out.)

The registration fee for either distance is $250 pesos per participant to help cover the cost of the race kits, which include a runner number, a commemorative shirt and medal, and hydration along the route. For registration and payment information Click HERE.

Delivery of Race Kits - Sports and Health Expo

Race Kits must be picked up at the Agustin Flores Contreras Municipal Sports Complex between 9:00 am and 7:00 pm on Friday, November 4th and on Saturday the 5th. Any runner who does not pick up their race kit prior to the competition will lose any rights derived from their registration.

While collecting your participation package, be sure to visit the Sports and Health Expo, an event dedicated to all athletes, but also open to the general public. More than 20 exhibitors will be offering sports and health related products and services at great prices, including running shoes, sports clothing, vitamins, specialized magazines, energy drinks, massages, etc.
