The city of Cancun, Mexico is hiring a CEO - a Cancun Experience Officer - to live in the beach town and generate content for Cancun.com. The dream job requires a six-month commitment from March to August 2018, when the lucky hire will be expected to record videos, post on various social media platforms and write blog posts for the site.
"We're looking for (a) brand ambassador who can showcase the warmth, wonder, and essence of Cancun as one of the world's premier vacation destinations," the job description reads. "As CEO, you will get the chance to swim with whale sharks, explore the jungle, investigate ancient ruins, and much more."
Whoever Cancun.com chooses will live in "luxury hotels and resorts" and have their work-related expenses covered by the site.
The top 100 candidates for the position will be selected in December, and then the pack will be trimmed down to 50 on January 4, 2018. Five contenders will fly to Cancun a few weeks later for the final interviews.
The no-joke job application requires a 140-character "elevator pitch," an essay on traveling, a one-minute video and links to social media accounts.
