31st Copa Vallarta Soccer Tournament, May 9-13, 2018

April 25, 2018

Puerto Vallarta, Mexico - From May 9-13, one of the most important amateur sporting events in Mexico, the Copa Vallarta soccer tournament, will be celebrating its 31st year of giving young athletes the opportunity to showcase their skills against the best national competitors while emphasizing teamwork, discipline and fair play.

One of the most successful soccer tournaments in the Pacific is undoubtedly the Copa Vallarta, an important hotbed for the emergence and development of new players of this sport, which not only benefits the participants, but also this destination that welcomes them.

The success of this competition is confirmed by the increasing number of participants in each of its two annual editions. The 2018 Vallarta Cup tournament is expected to attract at least 8,000 visitors, who will spend an estimated 110 million pesos, which confirms the relevance of sports tourism in this tourist destination.

Event organizer Armando Cosilión informed that the Vallarta Cup will also serve as an important tool in the promotion of Puerto Vallarta in the 20 states around the country from whence the participating teams will arrive in groups composed of players, trainers, support assistants and family members.

This popular tournament is important to the promotion of sports tourism in Puerto Vallarta due to a growing interest in soccer tournaments, especially among children and young people. It gives players a chance to develop their skills, and their families a great reason travel to this destination and enjoy a few days at the beach.

Every available soccer field in both Puerto Vallarta and the Riviera Nayarit will be the stage for the 350 games that have been scheduled. All competitions are free and open to the public, so grab your friends and family and come out and support our young athletes.

The Tourism Trust and the Convention and Visitors Bureau of Puerto Vallarta congratulate Armando Cosilión and his entire team for their constant efforts to make the Copa Vallarta one of the largest youth soccer tournaments in Mexico in terms of quantity and quality.

This type of sports tournament also generates future travel plans, as the participants' families usually return to spend a few days during summer vacation, or start planning to register their kids for the second edition of the 2018 Copa Vallarta, which is set to be played in November.
