Mayor Gustavo González Villaseñor and a special committee visited the city of Seattle, Washington.
In his continuing effort to promote Puerto Vallarta and the Banderas Bay area as a world-class tourist destination, mayor Gustavo González Villaseñor and a special committee comprised of municipal and tourism authorities visited the city of Seattle, Washington from April 21st-23rd.

José Luis Díaz Borioli, Puerto Vallarta Director of Municipal Tourism explained that the committee's plan was divided into four important strategies, the first being the tourist aspect, wherein the authorities of this area gathered together to identify a plan of action for promoting this destination through advertising.

The second aspect was to visit with representatives of Alaska Airlines, which is one of Puerto Vallarta's principal tourists providers, flying more than 100 thousand passengers a year to this destination, in an effort to establish agreements between the airline company and the Puerto Vallarta Fideicomiso of Tourism.

The third marketing strategy is to form a working relationship with the people from Jalisco and the Mexicans in general who live in the United States, asking them to become tourism ambassadors for Puerto Vallarta abroad, and through them establish direct relationships with travelers and travel companies to promote this tourist destination.

Días Borioli mentioned that the fourth aspect is to visit different universities and cultural centers in the US in order to establish educational and artistic exchanges. Borioli said that, so far, our relationships with other cities have been really gratifying and intense, and he is considering the possibility of appointing one person to be in charge of keeping the cordial relationships with every state.

The committee that accompanied González Villaseñor on the Seattle tour was comprised of the President of the Municipal DIF, Gloria Córdova de González; Municipal Trustee Miguel Ángel Yerena Ruiz; Tourism Associate, Agustín Álvarez Valdivia; Tourism Director José Luis Díaz Borioli and Luis Cerda Acuña, a private secretary, among others.

During the promotional tour in Seattle, committee members enjoyed a dinner with the representatives of the city of Tacoma Washington, a reception with the board of directors of the Tacoma World Trade Center, and an interview with the Tacoma city mayor, where they talked about promoting Puerto Vallarta to the people of Washington.

They also visited Taecam.com where they talked about education, took a meeting with representatives of the Alpha Cipher company about improving communications, and had dinner with the leaders of the project Plaza México. On Saturday 23rd the committee visited the Tacoma aquarium, where a new project for an aquarium in Puerto Vallarta was discussed.
