An informative meeting was held last Monday to address the townspeople's concerns about the new SEAPAL waste water processing plant.
Puerto Vallarta - Motivated by the concerns of residents in the El Colorado municipality, an informative meeting was held last Monday with Yolanda Cuevas Cortez, president of the commission of drinking water and sewer system, SEAPAL operations manager Manuel Acosta, and Carlos Alatorre representing the SEMADES agency of Jalisco addressing the townspeople's questions and concerns about the new SEAPAL waste water processing plant.

A Puerto Vallarta City Councilman commented that last week there was another meeting with the business AMOSA, wherein specific points were established about the final disposition of the waste water processing plant. In her function as a representative of Puerto Vallarta City Hall, she requested that SEAPAL's mechanisms be reviewed for the purpose of updating and improving the methods that are being used, and asked that the water agency keep her informed of their actions.

She commented that the objective of Monday's meeting with the neighbors of El Colorado was for SEAPAL to not only give an explanation on the works that will be carried out, but also to try to find a solution to the neighbor's demands. She added that as a representative of Puerto Vallarta mayor Gustavo González Villaseñor's administration, she was committed to supporting the citizens' concerns and monitoring SEAPAL's activities.

Yolanda Caves commented that the Commission of Drinking Water and Sewer System and SEAPAL will coordinate their efforts to verify that the right decisions are made, and in this manner resolve the situation that worries the citizens of El Colorado. "The authorities cannot impose a situation that the citizens do not want, so we will be very insistent that SEAPAL seeks a strategic place that complies with the conditions that SEMADES sets for them," emphasized the city councilman.

She added that according to the recommendations of SEAPAL operations manager it would be ideal to incorporate the solid waste into a sanitary backfill area, and by doing so they would have the means to do the work that is necessary to adapt the zone. Finally, the president of the Commission of Drinking Water and Sewer System commented that it is their responsibility to attend to the concerns of the townspeople, and similarly to act as a mediator between the citizens of El Colorado, SEAPAL, SEMADES and City Hall authorities.
